While hearing the Delhi violence, the Supreme Court has slammed the Delhi Police for this. The court said that these things do not happen if the police do not allow the abettors to escape. Citing the example of America and Britain, Justice Joseph said that if something goes wrong the soldiers have to behave professionally.

The Supreme Court said that the comments were not made in the adverse context but to ensure that law and order were maintained. The Solicitor General requested the court not to make adverse comments related to the Delhi violence as it would discourage the police force.

The court said that it is the job of the law enforcement administration to ensure that the atmosphere remains peaceful. Simultaneously, the Supreme Court directed Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija to submit an affidavit stating that she had not filed a petition against custody in any other court.
Delhi Violence: Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the Supreme Court that the Delhi High Court has heard the petitions regarding the violence. The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Yachika challenging the detention of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti under the Public Security Act.
