Nirbhaya Case: The wife of Akshay Thakur, a resident of Lehng Karma village, Bihar, convicted of Delhi's famous Nirbhaya scandal, has filed for divorce in the court of Chief Justice Ramlal Sharma of Aurangabad Family Court and Said, she cannot live as a widow.
Akshay's wife Punita has said in the court that her husband has been convicted in Nirbhaya's misdemeanor case and is to be hanged after the court verdict. Akshay Thakur's wife says that my husband is innocent, so I don't want to be his widow. So she needs a divorce from her husband.
Delhi Nirbhaya case: Explain that the date of hearing has been fixed on March 19 in this case and then all the accused are to be hanged on March 20.
At the same time, Mukesh Kumar Singh, an advocate of Akshay Thakur's wife, said that the victim woman has a legal right to get the right of divorce in certain cases under the Hindu Marriage Act 13 (2) (II).
According to the law, if a woman's husband is convicted in a rape case, she can apply for divorce. It is to be known that the four accused who have been sentenced to death in the Nirbhaya case include Akshay Thakur of Lehng Karma.
